Present are silhouettes of boats and there is a light (the setting sun perhaps?) located in the distance, one that beckons the viewers attention because it is the only vibrant color in the painting . This reminds me of how Gatsby is entranced by the green light that shines on Daisy's dock, as even in the darkest of times, he can see that light and it reminds him of her.
